Carpe Diem
In Carpe Diem the arrangement of plants in a garden enjoying the sun and the flight of birds overhead after a long day is reminiscent of a choral group, each member with a distinctive voice, blending together in a song expressing sheer gratitude as they sway together in the soft breeze. Everything is as it should be, alive and happy. This painting is about cooperation and harmony in nature and is a foil to the imbalance and suffering caused by the activities of man.
Whether you select a canvas print or a fine art paper print, it will be made of the highest quality materials, with archival inks and top-of-the-line printers regularly calibrated to ensure color accuracy and durability for generations.
Limited Edition Canvas Prints - printed on thick pH neutral and acid-free archival-grade poly-cotton mix canvas hand-stretched over a solid wood frame. Eco-solvent inkjet printers render bright vivid colors that will resist fading for over 100 years.
Limited Edition Paper Prints - printed on acid-free premium archival heavy wieght smooth bright white matte fine art paper that supports super accurate color reproduction and high-contrast and features an instant-dry coating that resists fingerprints and smudging.
Limited Edition Foam-Mounted Fine Art Paper Prints - printed on the same matte fine art paper as above affixed to a 3/16-inch pH-neutral heat-activated polystyrene foam sandwiched between clay-coated pH-neutral paper ensuring a strong bond that eliminates concerns of wrinkling and keeps your prints sturdy for presentation.
Canvas Prints - All canvas prints will have 1.25-inch deep edges that are printed with a color that complements the painting, so that no framing is necessary. If desired, a .55-inch floater frame of black, natural oak, or walnut can be selected. All canvas prints come with hanging hardware.
Paper Prints - If you are planning to have your print professionally framed, a paper print is ideal. Your print will come as a full-bleed printed all the way to the edge of the paper to accommodate both traditional and more modern framing modes.
Foam-mounted Paper Prints - Foam-mounted prints are rigid enough to hang directly on the wall with adhesive-type hanging hardward without framing. The image will be printed full-bleed to the edge of the paper. These versatile prints can also be framed traditionally or can be used in a simple floater frame.
Floater Frame Recommendation - Both DickBlick.com and JerrysArtarama.com have a variety of affordable frames. My favorite frame is a simple thin wood floater frame that outlines the print without impinging on the image. Both stores carry such a frame style called the Ampersand Floater Frames, which comes in many of the sizes on this website. I prefer the 1/4-inch thin profile, but it also comes in bold. There is a rabbet depth (space inside the frame that accommodates the thickness of your artwork) of either 7/8-inch (right choice for foam-mounted prints) or 1 1/2-inch (right choice for our canvas prints). These are easy do-it-yourself frames that accentuate the beauty of your artwork. They come with all hardware needed to fit and hang your print in its new home.
Your limited edition print will be shipped to your door directly from the print shop, along with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. All prints will be shipped flat with the exception of non-mounted paper prints 30 x 30 and larger, which are shipped in a sturdy tube to avoid damage. The cost of shipping within the contiguous United States is included in the listed price, so there will be no extra charge for shipping. If you wish delivery to Hawaii, Alaska, overseas, or outside the contiguous United States, shipping will be invoiced separately after purchase and must be paid before delivery.
To avoid the inconvenience of having to return your work of art, you are encouraged to make sure before purchasing that the size, color, and image are compatible with the space it will inhabit and with the other people who also inhabit that space. But in the event you need to return your purchase, please notify me withing 14 days of delivery and ship the print, using FedEx packing requirements, within 30 days of delivery. (Shipping artwork back is at the expense of the customer.) Your money will be refunded when the print is returned in the same new condition.
If your print arrives damaged, please take pictures of the packaging as well as the damaged print and email them to me (marlenestruss@gmail.com) within 14 days of delivery. I will very quickly send you a replacement print.
If you're the kind of person who knows what they want and it's not exactly what's offered, no problem. There are unlimited print options nowadays, and we can fulfill just about any requirement you may have. Want a larger print? Want it on photo paper? Want a quarter-inch white bleed all around? Want it printed on metal? Want it traditionally framed? Want a thicker foam-mounted print? Want a print of an artwork on this website that isn't offered as a print? It might be easier to say what we don't offer: no mugs, hats, or T-shirts; no image wrap-around canvas edges, no black canvas edges, no image color changes, and no image ratio (shape) changes. Otherwise, be creative!
Please contact me directly with your custom requests (marlenestruss@gmail.com), and I will work with you to your 100% satisfaction.
