Marlene Struss - Painter

With the unfolding discovery of all that Photoshop has to offer, I was now free to push the limits of paper collage and enhance my images photographically.  For instance, I could now create diaphanous  layers, lay in a more solid background, make a smooth gradation or add lighting effects. I could experiment with color with impunity and let one process lead to another until the abstraction became a harmonious world of its own.  Digital painting represents the transition from photage to today's acrylic painting and is the chief influence on my painting style and sense of color.

Each digital painting is printed on Moab Anasazi acid-free canvas using archival, pigmented inks in a limited-edition.
